Traces of Transit

 

"Traces of Transit" captures the essence of a transformative journey, both externally and internally. Shot with colour film negative on locally acquired films from South East Asia, this photographic project uniquely unfolds. The films, unprocessed for eight years in the region's humidity, manifest a distinctive roughness, marked by traces and imprints when I processed them this year. In 2015, during a transit from Bangkok to Corsica, these latent images were taken. A personal chronicle unfolds—initially dark and reflective of inner turmoil in Bangkok, transitioning to the sunlit landscapes of Corsica, mirroring a newfound happiness and strength eight years later. This project transcends mere visuals, embodying the dual narrative of physical transit and the profound metamorphosis from darkness to light, aptly titled "Traces of Transit".
